Synopsis:

Rayna and Deacon face the facts of their relationship; Scarlett makes an unexpected discovery about herself; Gunnar performs with Elton John; Luke makes an appearance on ``The View''; Layla launches her new album.

After nearly two decades, Rayna and Deacon face the facts of their storied and often tempestuous relationship. Scarlett makes a startling self-discovery in between tour dates while Gunnar performs with one of his idols, rock-music legend Sir Elton John, who guest stars as himself. Luke stops by “The View” to trumpet a worthy cause—before a family emergency pulls his focus. Elsewhere, Juliette struggles to make a connection, and Layla launches her album at The Bluebird. Whoopi Goldberg, Joy Behar, Raven Symoné and Paula Faris guest star as themselves.

Rayna and Deacon go to couples therapy to talk about their problems, and the therapist asks is they can forgive each other and forget the past. Luke appears on The View to talk about Will. Some fellow recruits beat up Colt because of his dad defending Will. Colt's grandfather blames Luke for this but Colt says he was standing up for his father. Autumn happens to be friends with Elton John and invites Gunnar to go with her to Elton's concert in Boston. Elton invites Gunnar to sing with him onstage. As the two get closer Scarlett realizes that she is still in love with him. Noah meets Cadence when he comes to stay with Juilette which doesn't sit well with Avery. At Layla's album release part Avery's mind keeps drifting to Juilette, he keeps checking his phone to see if she has called him. This and Rayna missing her album release party doesn't make Layla happy. Some guy shows up at Will's to thank Will that he helped him come to terms about his own sexuality. Will decides he wants to face Cynthia Davis face to face.
