(From ABC)
Rayna’s anniversary of her induction into the Grand Ole Opry is cause for celebration and guest starring cameos by country stars Vince Gill and Lorrie Morgan as themselves. Rayna reaches out to Deacon and her daughters to perform with her, prompting the girls’ hopes of the couple reuniting romantically. Will is uncomfortable when he’s paired with an out gay man to collaborate on songwriting. Sadie is interviewed by Robin Roberts on “Good Morning America” and goes public about her private battle.

(Recap From ABC)
It’s the 10th anniversary of Rayna’s (Connie Britton) induction into the Grand Ole Opry and she invites her daughters and Deacon (Charles Esten) to join her in celebrating her big night! Maddie (Lennon Stella) and Daphne (Maisy Stella) make their Opry debut accompanied by Deacon on guitar, and later Rayna invites him to return to the stage—this time to sing with her. But when the night wraps and Deacon is nowhere to be found, a hurt Rayna shows up at his house and says, “Please don’t leave me anymore.”

It’s then that Deacon finally decides to tell Rayna about his cancer diagnosis, causing an emotional Rayna to slap him before breaking down in his arms.

Meanwhile, Scarlett (Clare Bowen) meets up with Deacon’s doctor for a date. They go out for a romantic fireside dinner date, which Scarlett quickly botches by talking about cancer—and only cancer. She later apologizes to Caleb (Nick Jandl) and asks for a second chance, inviting him as her date to the Rascal Flatts concert where she, Gunnar (Sam Palladio) and Avery (Jonathan Jackson) are opening up for the band.

The three bandmates, who are now calling themselves The Triple XXX, nail their performance and Rascal Flatts asks them to continue touring with them. In the midst of celebrating, Caleb kisses Scarlett in front of Gunnar, who doesn’t look too happy about his ex’s developing romance.

Elsewhere, Will (Chris Carmack) begrudgingly meets up with openly gay songwriter Kevin Bicks (Kyle Dean Massey) at Luke’s (Will Chase) request. Worried that his association with Kevin will clue people in to the fact that he’s gay, Will is initially hostile towards the songwriter but eventually warms up to him and the two are able to write a song.

And speaking of songs, Layla (Aubrey Peeples) takes Jeff’s (Oliver Hudson) advice and goes behind Bucky’s (David Alford) back to release a single online. When Bucky discovers that fans download her song 3,000 times in 24 hours, he agrees that Highway 65 should revamp their plan to promote her talents.
